I've got several recipes for baked beans using different varieties of beans but they are all in fact baked in the oven.
Wikipedia says: Baked beans is a dish containing beans, sometimes baked but, despite the name, usually stewed, in a sauce. Most commercial canned baked beans are made from haricot beans, also known as navy beans. So what's the difference between them being baked and simmered?
I don't think there's much of one because I've seen a lot of recipes that say bake or simmer for X amount of time.Ok none of my recipes call for navy beans but that could be because I hate navy beans!!! They're one of the few beans I am extremely hostile towards. Go figure. My Dogs are sooo sick of the rain!!
You know I have always wondered that! Thanks for sharing!
